This year we decided to take Scarlett to see some Christmas lights displays. All around Perth streets in every suburb will get into the festive spirit and put on elaborate displays all up and down the street. It’s not something that happened to this level where I grew up so it was kind of exciting for me too! We waited until the sun set, looked up a couple of nearby streets on the internet and headed off. Sometimes there are bonuses to having a night owl toddler!
We went to two streets, in Waikiki and Port Kennedy, and they really had gone all out! It was like a magical wonderland and Scarlett just loved it! She marvelled excitedly at all the lights and played a chasing game with Daddy up and down the streets lit only by twinkling colourful Christmas lights.
Naturally I took my camera 😛 I grabbed these photos on the fly, hand held and most of the time one handed as I chased my excited toddler, lit purely by the Christmas display lights. So they’re grainy and haphazard and I kind of love them. It was a really fun night 🙂
I’m usually a flash hater but they were having so much fun together I just had to crank out the on-camera flash for a quick snap.
